St. Paul’s Progressive Picnic
This is a St. Paul’s event that is held each summer usually in July or August. It is usually held on a Saturday evening starting about 5:30 and ending about dark. There are about 30 – 40 attendees of all ages. It is an outdoor event held on the lawns of 2 to3 parishioners. Attendees bring their own lawn chairs and are assigned to help with a course…either appetizers, salads or desserts. We decided years ago that having an entrée course was ‘just too much food’ so we eliminated the main course. The host families provide the location, simple beverages and table service.
Fellowship Supper Club
Fellowship Supper Club dinners are usually held monthly in Nov., Jan., Feb. and March. Signups for this event happen in Sept. and Oct. Each circle or group is made up of eight members (singles or couples) and tries to meet once a month. The host function rotates among those in the circle. The suggested plan is that the host (if the dinner is held in a home) provides a simple entrée and the other attendees bring a side dish, salad or dessert for the table. This is intended to be a simple dinner with lots of fellowship and relaxation. Your circle may decide to meet at a restaurant for dinner with each individual paying their own way. Some circles meet at restaurants each month. There are no rules. Do whatever works best for your circle. There is usually a pitch in dinner involving all groups in April or May.
