Supply Priest for Sunday, September 5, 2010:
Rev. James B. Wilson
Parishioner news from various sources:
GLORIA NIELSEN’s mother, Thelma [Terri] Leon, died early Sunday morning. Her service is Thursday morning at Newcomers Funeral Home. Remember Gloria and the Neilson family in your prayers.
DONNA EGBERT has been in the hospital with bronchitis; she’s home now and recovering. Please add her to your prayer list.
TYLER SARISCSANY’s team in the Little League World Series ended up third in the US, behind Texas and California, and tied for fifth with Mexico in the World.... very fun and amazing, according to Mom Cara!
Need pastoral care or comfort?
We are without a priest temporarily, but we have two priests on “stand-by” in case anyone in the parish family needs help. Please call the church office or contact Senior Warden Fran Fach to have either Fr. Jim Wilkinson or Fr. Fred Crysler called. In fact, Fr. Fred said you could call him directly on his cell phone, 502-263-3707, for any issues relating to pastoral care needs.
Adios Polk and Cathy by J. Paul McGinnis
Everyone here at St. Paul's can, unquestionably, give "himself-herself: a great hefty "abraso" (hug) for the tremendously successful farewell luncheon. Fran Fach, Bob Streepey, Gordon Anderson, Jane Rutherford ...all gave some spirited and meaningful, kind words. And the tables were smartly, decorated thanks to Debbie Hubbard. The food, well, was the best ever. The long table was loaded, and the cooks who prepared it deserve "hugs-plus". I get hungry just thinking about it.
Collectively we all wish Polk and Cathy every measure of success and happiness in their future endeavors. Let us all join together in a rousing chorus of
"Adios...Au Revoir...Auf Wiedersehen"

Parishioner news from various sources:
TYLER SARISCSANY’S team is 2-2 in pool play in the Junior League World Series! They still have a shot at making it to the semi finals on Friday night. It depends on the outcome of the games that are being played this evening - If both Texas and Virginia win this evening, then they would be second in the pool and therefore play for the US championship on Friday night. The winner of that game would play the International champion on Saturday evening for the World Series Title. What ever happens, it has been an exciting summer of baseball again this year!
As you know, CHRIS DENNY’s daughter, son, and son-in-law were injured in an automobile accident last week on Highway 62 near Charlestown. Son Alex is now out of the hospital with a back brace that he has to wear for the next month. Son-in-law Joey is out with a neck brace he has to wear for the next 2 months. Daughter Tamera is still in the hospital, but might get out today if the next batch of x-ray images look okay; her left lung had partially collapsed, and they want to be certain that it retains air. The girl who ran into their car didn't have any insurance.
MARY SUE WOOD is out of the hospital and at home. Tests continue to determine the source of the problems she is experiencing and she is scheduled to have a series of transfusions to help stabilize her blood count.
KATHY STREEPEY’S stepfather, John Humphrey, died Monday. A memorial service is being planned for a future time, and expressions of sympathy can be sent to Hospice of Southern Indiana. Please keep Kathy and all of her family in your prayers now.

Forewarning of change:

Facilities Use Policy for St. Paul’s buildings:
The vestry has established the guidelines for using all of the buildings at St. Paul’s Church campus. You can get a copy [soon] on the website or pick one up at the parish office—or you can request the secretary mail it to you. You will need to fill out a request form to reserve the space and a key form to get a key to the building you want to use. Look in the September VISION for a summary of the guidelines.
Update your calendars:
Surplus desks at the Parish House are free to any parishioner or friend who has a need for them and is able to transport them out of the second floor and off the property! All surplus furniture will disappear by the end of August. If you want anything, call the church office immediately. Thanks!
